Hello!
I’m Suzy. A voice instructor, vocologist, and musical theatre junkie through and through. Show tunes, jazz hands, and belting out a Broadway classic? Count me in! I love chocolate, smelling flowers, jet skiing, and Disney magic.

Once upon a time…
I grew up near Sacramento, California, where I studied voice under Jimmy Arnold (The Four Lads) and Iliana Pietralunga. This was where my love for storytelling through songs came alive. I traveled with performing groups, caught the theatre bug, and won a few California State Talent Competitions. I attended BYU, graduating with a BFA in Music Dance Theatre, performed with the BYU Young Ambassadors, and enjoyed singing and dancing throughout the US and in Mexico, Spain, Morocco, and Tunisia.
Performing opportunities continued with summer music variety shows at Opryland’s Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, TX, at Lagoon in Farmington, UT, and other local community productions.
The thrill of teaching and creating…
Working to earn my way through college, I discovered that teaching is incredibly rewarding, and ever since I have loved watching students rise above their perceived limitations and realize their potential as performers. I spent 20 years in beautiful Maine teaching voice and have loved directing music and local theatre productions like Mary Poppins, Singin’ In the Rain, Frozen, The Lion King, Aladdin, Annie, Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, and more. I wanted to understand more about the science of voice production to better help my students develop safe and healthy vocal skills, so I continued my education and earned a Master’s Certificate in Vocology (the science and practice of voice habilitation) from Lamar University. I was the owner and artistic director of Main Stage Academy for 8 years, a performing arts studio created to teach children and teens (including 5 of my own) how to sing, dance, act, and build confidence through musical theatre. I have loved taking students on performing tours to Boston, New York City, and Florida. I recently relocated to Utah with my family and currently sing with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
